You must get rid of any hint of the old idea that there is a god who has decided that you should be poor, or who may somehow benefit by keeping you in poverty.

The Intelligent Substance found in everything, and which lives in everything, including you, is a Living Substance. As a Living Substance, it has the same nature and desire of every intelligent living thing to increase its life. Every living thing must constantly seek to increase its life, because life, merely by living, must increase itself.

A seed, when dropped into the ground, bursts with activity and during its life produces a hundred more seeds. Life multiplies itself through the mere act of living. It is always creating more of itself. It must do so if it is to continue to be.

Intelligence falls under the same need to continuously increase. We are controlled by the urges of life, to seek personal expression, which drives us to know more, to do more, and to be more.

씨앗이 땅에 떨어지면, 싹을 틔우고 살아가며 수백개의 더 많은 씨앗을 만들어낸다. 이렇게 삶은 단지 살아가는 것만으로 증가하고 더 많아진다. 그것이 계속 존재하기 위해서는 반드시 그래야만 한다.

지성 역시 마찬가지로 끊임없이 증가하려고 한다. 자신을 표현하려는 생명의 본능적인 충동은 우리가 더 많이 알고, 더 많이 해내고, 더 나은 존재가 되도록 이끈다.
